The Week in Review: Summer Music Festivals

Summer is the season of music festivals, and a few notched milestones recently: last weekend, Lollapalooza drew a record-topping attendance of 300,000, while the week before, the mega Electronic Dance Music event Tomorrowland saw 140 flights from 67 cities descend on its terminal in Brussels. This weekend, San Francisco’s Outside Lands will host its first-ever hackathon to create apps music fans can use at the festival.

Here are a few magazines that capture the excitement around electronic, alternative, hip-hop and rock music. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, it’s time to shake those glow sticks. For those who hardly recognize today’s headliners, read these magazines for a quick glance at what “the kids” are talking about these days.
